A43 File Management Utility - Nifty file manager.
CCleaner - System optimization and temporary file deletion tool.
Defraggler - Disk defragmenter.
Firefox - Still a Pretty good browser.
FTP Commander - Nifty FTP program.
Google Chrome - Another good alternative to IE.
Home Site - Macromedia wishes folk would buy DreamWeaver, but this old program is still the best HTML editor I've ever used.
MajorGeeks - Site containing freeware and shareware utilities.
Thunderbird - The same folk who created Firefox (Mozilla) also created this nice email program.
Note Tab Pro - An excellent text editor.
Pablo Software Solutions - This site features some nice utility programs.
WinAmp - Nice mp3 player.
WinZip - Still the best compression software available.
Open Source software has become a big thing in recent years and works just as well (if not better) than its more expensive counterparts. Here are a couple examples.
Audacity - A great audio editing and recording program created by SourceForge.net.
Open Office - A group of programs that contains word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more.

Kismet - Wireless detector, sniffer, and intrusion detection system.
NMap Security Scanner - Open source (license) utility for network exploration or security auditing.
